The coop course provided me the basis for a very rewarding career.
After being laid off from Bryant's in 1960, I moved to Marlborough Mass.
I went to work for an Electronics firm in Natick Mass. as a machinist.
I was employed there for 29 years, spending the last 19 as the Manager of the Product and Tool Design department.
In 1990, I assumed the position of General Manager/Manufacturing Engineer, at an upscale subcontract machine shop in Hudson Mass.
In 2000, we decided to move to Longmont Co. to be closer to our children, and subsequent retirement. However, that did not last long as I took another management position at a small subcontract machine shop in Boulder CO. assisting the owner in expanding his business.
For various reasons, I finally retired in 2011.
Through the years we have vacationed in Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and spent some time in Hawaii.
Having a penchant for carpentry, plumbing and electrical work, I spent a lot of time renovating our previous home back in Marlborough Mass. Unfortunately, after getting it up to our liking, we sold it and moved West.
We look forward to our annual trek back East, to visit with family and friends, and going to Maine to enjoy some coastal cuisine.
A casino employee put it all in proper perspective, awhile back. He was standing behind me while I was playing a slot machine. I got lucky and won a jackpot for quite a few bucks, at which time he said to me, "only in America".
