SPRINGFIELD - Richard R. Batchelder, 63, died April 3, 2005, at Springfield Hospital with lung cancer. He was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Springfield, the son of Perley and Arlene (Utton) Batchelder.

He graduated from Springfield High School in 1960.

Mr. Batchelder married Gail Snide on Aug. 4, 1962, in Weathersfield.
