
SPRINGFIELD - Sylvia Jean Campbell, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 18, 1942 in Bellows Falls, the daughter of Nelson W. and Bernice D.( Hance ) Dennett. She attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School in 1960. She also attended Community College of Vermont.
She was employed for several years as a certified nursing assistant at the Hanson Court Nursing Home in Springfield. She was a teacher with the Head Start Program in Springfield and worked as a private-care nurse in the Springfield area for several years.
On Dec. 28, 1984, Sylvia married Darwin K. "Tex" Campbell in Springfield. He predeceased her on July 20, 2008.
Mrs. Campbell enjoyed reading, horses and the Lake Willoughby area, spending every October there with her husband.
She is survived by a son, William Dennett of Springfield; two stepsons, Jerry Campbell of Wallingford and Perry Campbell of North Clarendon; two stepdaughters, Celisa Rollson of Bennington, and Sharon Fanning of Greenfield, Mass.; three sisters, Mildred Buxton of St. Johnsbury, Patricia Comerford of Walpole, N.H., and June Theetge of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Betty Gokey and her stepdaughter Theresa Burliegh.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lake View Cemetery in Westmore.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
