Marjorie Stearns (Edson) VIEW PROFILE

Marjorie Stearns (Edson)

My understanding is that Marjorie did not want an Obituary.  With respect for her wishes, the comments here are to commerate a woman who surely was her own, determined, opinionated, and a caring soul.  "She was her own special person who would give you the shirt off her back."... sister, Carol.

In 1963, our classmates Marjorie Stearns and Erik Edson were married in Springfield, subsequently moving to Denver while Erik was in tech school.   Marjorie and Erik relocated to Fairbanks, Alaska when Erik was transferred in 1964.  Alaska was home until 1969.  Marjorie gave birth to two daughters, Karen and Kathy, during the five years in Alaska.  Erik's next transfer in 1969 brought the family to Sacramento, CA where they remained for seven years followed by another move to Melbourne, FL.

Marjorie remained stateside to raise their two daughters while Erik transferred overseas.  Marjorie worked at Dry Cleaner until her retirement, and health issues took a front seat in her life... although "nothing phased her"... "medical folks made comments:  You shouldn't be around,"  to which she would remark: "I can wear these size two pants".  Her health issues included a heart problem.

Marjorie liked to crochet; whenever possible she donated to an animal shelter in her local area.  Marjorie's daughter Karen, her husband Eric and son Drew live in Melbourne, Florida.  Her daughter Kathleen and husband Bedwry live in Bristo, England; her sister, Carol Stearns Coomstock (class of 1958) lives in Springfield, MA.  Marjorie died on 4 December 2016, she is missed.
