James E. Williams
WEATHERSFIELD - James E. Williams 74, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Elm Wood Center in Claremont, New Hampshire.
He was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Rutland, the son of Edward and Ann (Crahan) Williams.
He attended Springfield schools and was active in 4-H.
Mr. Williams served in the Chester Army Reserves.
He owned and operated Williams Fence Co. in Weathersfield for over 40 years.
He was an avid camper and bass fisherman, winning tournaments over the years. Later, he enjoyed shrimping and ocean fishing in Florida.
Survivors include three children, Edward Williams, of Weathersfield, Richard Williams, of Pittsford, and Vickie Wyman, of Keene, New Hampshire; his companion of 32 years, Nadine Leet, of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Kathy Leet Kennedy and Lisa Young, both of Pembroke, New Hampshire; two sisters, Barbara Shepard, of Derby, and Mary Williams, of Pembroke, Massachusetts; 15 grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield, with the Rev. Peter Williams, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield.
