Robert H. "Bob" Burbank, Jr, 75, of New Britain, died Saturday (April 19, 2014) at home. Born in Springfield, VT, he has been a New Britain resident since May 2002. He was a machinist with various companies for several years, he enjoyed bowling with the Plantsville Seniors two days a week and served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. Bob is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Frank) Burbank; their children Lisa Burbank of N. Springfield, VT; Leroy Burbank of Canaan, NH; Sandra Burbank of S. Londonderry , VT; Cassandra Dodge of Maryville TN; Ralph Schofield of Clairemont, NH; his mother Bernice Jenks, two sisters Barbara Balla and Patricia Wilson all of Ocala, FL; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Thursday 2:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private. SPRINGFIELD — Robert H. Burbank Jr., 75, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his home in Connecticut. Born Oct. 5, 1938, in Springfield, he graduated from Springfield High in 1957. He worked for Fellows Gear Shaper for several years. He enjoyed being a coach for several baseball and softball teams in Springfield. He enjoyed bowling in the Fellows League and the Plantsville Seniors in Connecticut and also playing golf in Vermont and Connecticut.

Bob is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Frank) Burbank of Connecticut; his children, Lisa Burbank of Springfield, LeRoy Burbank of Canaan, N.H., and Sandra Burbank of South Londonderry; and two stepchildren, Cassandra Dodge of Marysville, Tenn., and Ralph Schofield of Claremont; his mother, Bernice Jenks, and two sisters, Barbara Balla and Patricia Wilson, all of Ocala, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Committal Service presided by Pastor Gerry Piper of the Methodist Church will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, in Oakland Cemetery followed by a family gathering at the home of Lisa Burbank.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
