NORTH SPRINGFIELD The funeral service for Richard L. Chadwick, 52, who died Sunday, May 3, 1992 at his home following a long illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gunner Urang, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Springfield, son of Richard and Frances (Horsky) Chadwick.

He attended Springfield schools, graduating from Springfield High School in 1957. He later served in the U.S. Army for several years.

Mr. Chadwick was employed at Readex in Chester for a number of years and later at Fellows Corp., and at General Electric Co. in Burlington. He returned to Springfield and was employed at the Jones and Lamson Machine Co. He served as circulation manager for the Springfield office of the Rutland Herald. For the past four years, he was maintenance manager for Okemo Mountain Ski Area in Ludlow.

He was a member of St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Springfield.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Emery) Chadwick, whom he married Sept. 3, 1977, in Springfield; a daughter, Kathleen Chadwick of North Spring-field; a stepdaughter, Maureen Blaisdell of Springfield; a stepson, Leon Hallock of Springfield; three brothers, Jon D. Chadwick of Sarasota, Fla., Denis N. Chadwick of Weathersfield and Earl W. Chadwick of Nashua, N.H.; a sister, Gail C. Chadwick of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, 05602.
