
WINDSOR - Lawrence D. Ovitt, 57, died Monday afternoon, February 24, 1997 at his home in Windsor.
He was bom July 4, 1939, in Burlington, son of Harold and Marjorie (Wilder) Ovitt.
Mr. Ovitt graduated in 1957 from Springfield High School and served in the U.S. Navy for four years.
Mr. Ovitt was employed for 10 years as a machinist by the Fellows Corp. in Springfield. For the past 15 years, he was employed by Cone-Blanchard Machine Co. in Windsor.
He was a social member of the American Legion Post 25 in Windsor and a member of the Moose Lodge in Claremont, N.H.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Wright Ovitt of Windsor, whom he married Sept. 24, 1988, in Newport, N.H.; five sons, Jeffrey Ovitt of St. Johnsbury, Kevin Ovitt of Weathersfield, Martin Ovitt of Springfield. Patrick Ovitt of Underhill and Kirk Ovitt of Windsor; two daughters, Kathy Ovitt and Cindy Ovitt, both of Windsor; a brother, Steven Ovitt of Reading; a sister, Janice Ryan of Reading; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is in charge of arrangements.
