Kay Yoxtheimer (Shelton)

We did not always see eye to eye in our younger years, but time brought Judy and I closer together.  As adults, we visited each other once a year, and spoke frequently.

Throughout her adult life, Judy worked for government contractors including TRW and GE; she spent a few years abroad on government projects, and moved about the country as her position(s) evolved.  She forever maintained her independent spirit, quick wit and comments - 'I did it my way' was a trademark for her.

Polycystic disease plagues our family - and manifasted in Judy in her 50's.  She developed polycystic kidneys, liver and spleen.  In the mid 90's she had a subarachnoid hemmorage (brain bleed - often common with polycystic disease) and thanks to John's Hopkins Medical Center, her life was spared.

After recovering,  she moved to Florida to enjoy the weather and relax.  Within a few short years, she required dialysis and at the start, did very well.  She was on the wait list at the Univ. of Miami Med. Ctr for a kidney and liver transplant, but time ran out for her.

Judy left a daughter who lives in VT, and a son who is in Florida, a grandchild, - a sister (that's me) and nephew -  cousins, uncles and aunts.

I remember my last visit with her and the stories she would tell me about her days at SHS.  She mentioned names - like Nola Woodbury, Patsy Childs, Don Emerson and Tyler Bean - and many, many others too, she remembered you all.
