In Memory

Linda Bock (Zaichkowsky)

August 26, 1943 - June 22, 2024

Linda Maye Zaichkowsky, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Myers, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 26, 1943, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Linden and Evelyn (nee Wallace) Bock.

Linda’s passion for education led her on a remarkable journey. After completing her undergraduate degree at Ithaca College, she joined the Womens Army Corp as an officer. She then completed her Masters degree at the University of Oklahoma, and PhD at the University of Toledo in Education. She began her academic career as a professor of Education at Boston University, followed by Boston College and Northeastern University, where she inspired countless students. Later, she shifted her focus to training educators in the corporate world at Dunn & Bradstreet and EMC Corporation.

Beyond academia, Linda had a zest for life. She adored golf and racquet sports, and in her later years, she became an avid spectator. Traveling the country and world with her beloved husband, Leonard, brought her immense joy. Yet, her greatest love was her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Leonard Zaichkowsky; two sons, Justin Zaichkowsky (Tamara Milne) of Cambridge, MA and Bryan Zaichkowsky (Tracy Jones) of Sydney, Australia; three siblings, Fred Bock (Carol) of Orange, CA, Rod Bock (Glenda) of Omaha, NE and Deb Tibbetts (Jeff) of Keene, NH; four adored grandchildren, Talia, Greyson, May and Ben; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Linda Maye Zaichkowsky leaves behind a legacy of kindness, knowledge, and unwavering love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers kindly make donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
