NORTH SPRINGFIELD - Thomas H. Gibson, 62, died Jan. 22, 2006, at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction.

He was born Nov. 9, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Clinton W. and Thelma L. (Wood) Gibson.

He was a graduate of Springfield High School and went on to Red Banks Military School in New Jersey.

Mr. Gibson served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Heidelberg, Germany.

He worked as a building contractor in Florida and also worked at St. Johnsbury Trucking in Westminster. Most recently, he worked as a machine tender at Georgia-Pacific Paper Co. in Brattleboro.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Anderson) of North Springfield; a son, Danny Sanborn of Springfield; a sister, Phyllis Thibideau of Claremont, N.H.; three grandchildren; an uncle, five nieces and four nephews.

The graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced, in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
