Nancy Horton, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 5 at Springfield Hospital. She was born September 7, 1942 in Springfield, the daughter of Earl A. Sr. and Irene (Hutchinson) Lovell. She attended Springfield schools, and graduated from Springfield High School. She was married to Wilbur H. Horton Sr. on March 6, 1965; he predeceased her on November 27, 1996.

She was employed as a cook with Jones & Lamson Machine Tool Company in Springfield for several years, later she was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

Nancy enjoyed crafts, cooking and gardening. She was a lifelong active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, and had served as Deaconess for a number of years. She was also a member of the church choir and the church women's group.

She is survived by a son, Wilbur H. Horton Jr., two daughters, Sherry L. Horton and Debbie A. Burr, all of Springfield; a granddaughter; three brothers, Earl Jr., David and Norman; three sisters, Caroline, Cathy and Mary Jane; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Irene; her husband, Wilbur; and a brother, Ernest.

A memorial service was held Sunday, December 11 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, officiated by Reverend Malcolm Fowler, Pastor. Burial will be in Plain Cemetery, Perkinsville in the Spring. Contributions may be made in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 156 Main Street, Springfield, VT 05156. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
