In Memory

John Sheldon

John "Jack" Sheldon of Hanover, passed away on October 11 at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Frances (Kelley) and Francis Sheldon.

Born and raised in Springfield, Jack was a graduate of Springfield High School and later went on to attend Champlain College. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Susan (Robbins), and the two lived in New Hampshire for six years before settling in Hanover to raise their family.

Jack had a lengthy and successful career in sales, but always put his friends and family first. It was often said that he never met a stranger. He truly enjoyed spending time and talking with people, especially with his family and friends. Jack was always the life of the party, known for his funny stories and contagious laughter. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, boating, and camping. His favorite place in the world was the family “camp” in Maine, where he loved to cook for everyone. A former member of the Elks, Jack also loved to play cards and pool, but above everything Jack truly cherished spending time with his family.

Jack was the loving husband of Susan (Robbins) Sheldon, children Jason Sheldon and his wife Andrea of Saratoga Springs, NY and Robert Sheldon and his wife Shannon of Bridgewater, grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Eli, Cole and Jude, sister Patricia (Sheldon) Page and husband Donald of Springfield, and several nephews, nieces, and many close friends.

The Sheldon family would like to give a very special thanks to the men and women of the Hanover Fire Department for all their assistance and support.

Visiting hours were held Oct. 22 at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover. A funeral home service followed. Donations may be sent to: Joan Frey Fund, c/o Hanover Fire Department, 32 Center St., Hanover, MA 02339.
