Carolyn Rose Watkins (Green)

SPRINGFIELD - Carolyn R. (Watkins) Green, 71, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born June 28, 1944, in Springfield, the daughter of Forrest and Marjorie J. (Short) Watkins. She attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School.

She was employed at Jones & Lamson Machine Tool for 18 years, PCM in Springfield for many years and was a Rutland Herald delivery driver for several years.

She enjoyed crocheting and cake decorating, making many wedding cakes over the years. She attended the Christadelphian Ecclesia in Springfield.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Douglas Green of Springfield; two sons, James A. Green and Kevin D. Green of Springfield; one brother, Glenn Watkins of Springfield; two sisters, Sandra Shute of Springfield and Joanne Warren of Bartonsville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield. Lawrence Millay will officiate.

Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
