Jeff Franken's life was taken on September 9, 1996, in Canton Michigan where he lived at the time. He was on a bike ride with a friend and while riding on the shoulder of the road was
struck by a speeding van. He died of head injuries at the scene. The van's driver got off scott free. Jeff was 24.

At the time he was night manager of Rite-Aid and was talking of
marrying his girl friend. His father had passed away only months
earlier from Leukemia. His plans were to return to Wayne college in
Detroit and get his degree in Electrical Engineering. 

His mother said he still absolutely loved playing golf just like in
High School. I want to thank his mom for her openness in talking with
me. The dead live on through remembering and I wanted Jeff to be
remembered by us all.
