Age 59 of Lake Elmo, Passed away on June 10, 2016 after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Gregg was a Detroit native and met his wife as a freshman at the University of Michigan where he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, the two moved to Minneapolis where Gregg attended the University of Minnesota Orthodontic Masters Program. Gregg was dedicated to building a successful orthodontic practice; "Orthodontics by Hipple," and he practiced for more than 32 years. Gregg generously gave his resources and time to helping others and the community. During his career, Gregg was an instructor at the University of Minnesota Orthodontic Department and served on the Gateway Bank Board of Directors. Gregg lived by his personal and professional motto Excellence Still Matters. Gregg was a loving husband and dedicated father, and a loyal and trusted friend. He was an avid Michigan Wolverine and Minnesota Gopher sports fan. He loved golf, music and spending time with his family and friends. Gregg is survived by his wife, Diana; daughter, Kathryn Wardwell (Michael); son, Matthew; brother, Kirk; mother-in-law, Claudette Howell; sisters-in-law, Melissa (Dave) Place, Brenda (Mark) LaBerge, Tracy Hipple, Stacey Hipple, and Theresa Hipple; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
