Wow - i really have not thought much about SJofA until I saw all the names in our class. It brought back many fond memories.

I went to Star of the Sea in 9th grade, but talked my dad into letting me out of the Catholic schools. I graduated from Grosse Pointe South in 1969 - although I still had to go to Catechism at St. Joan. I graduated from Alma college, majoring in Math and French. I then went to Michigan Tech for graduate school (yes - way up north and very cold) - selected only because I received a graduate teaching assistantship in Math. At Tech, I received my first introduction to computers and am still in the Information Technology field. Yes, I am somewhat of a geek.....

I have been married for 36 years, raised 3 boys and now have 7 grandchildren. We lived several places in Michigan and Indiana, but have been back in Grosse Pointe for quite awhile. All three boys graduated from Grosse Pointe North.

I retired in August 2012 and love it!

School Story:

I remember recess and our place to "play" was in the parking lots - no outdoor playscape - we were pretty creative in passing the time. I also remember being separated from the boys in 7th and 8th grade - like that was going to change things :-)

I also remember Ms. Maroney's softball team - we lost every game but one in 6th grade and still had fun! We did much better in 7th and 8th grade.

There were times when we had 50 kids in our class (2nd grade was in the basement of the old church), but we still learned alot and survived!

Always had great mems from SJA. Some of the best football players at GPH were from SJA including Mark Stratmans & Jim Montmorency. We were married at SJA in 1991 which will be 30 years next year. It was nice seeing you at our 50 year reunion. You would not know I often thought you had pretty eyes & a nice smile. Hope you enjoy your retirement. Blessings to you and your family, Linda.
