Paul Morath '60 - Class Of 1960 VIEW PROFILE

Paul Edward Morath, age 68, died suddenly on January 5, 2015 at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit. Paul was born in Detroit on June 6, 1946, the son of Carl and Irene Morath. Paul graduated from Austin Catholic High School in Detroit in 1964. He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and also his Master's in Business Administration.

Paul began his career working at Price-Waterhouse as a CPA. He later joined the Cold Heading Company, an automotive fastener company in Detroit, in the finance department and eventually became its Chief Operating Officer. He left Cold Heading and joined Ring Screw Company. He also entered into a partnership to form Shamrock Precision Fasteners. Ring Screw and Shamrock were eventually sold to Textron. Shortly after he retired, he helped form Shannon Precision Fasteners where he maintains the title of President Emeritus. 

Paul was a member of the Alhambra and the American Legion Post in Lewiston, MI. His hobbies included woodworking, photography, and world travel. He was a dog-lover.

Paul is survived by his wife Pamela; his children, David (Laurie), Daniel (Nicole), Julie Contat (Kevin) and Jill Osborn (Christian); ten grandchildren; and siblings, James (Betsy), Margaret, Donald (Sarah), Thomas (Terri), Frederick (Katherine), Lawrence (Patricia), Irene McGinn (David), Louise Gordon (Brian) and Carl (Kristen). He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Irene Morath.
