Linda Ann Kaplinski (nee Detloff), age 70, passed away on a snowy day, Monday, January 29, 2018 at her home in Grosse Pointe Woods. Linda was born on a snowy day February 24, 1947 to Donald and Mae Detloff. Beloved wife of Dennis whom she married September 7, 1974 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Loved sister of John (Toni) and David Detloff. Loving aunt of Megan, Amy, and Sarah. Dear friend of Sheryl (Tom) Hogan and Pat (Jimmy) Dillon-Quinn. Linda enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed working needle point and gardening. She was very active in many organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Quilt Guild of Metro Detroit, the American Sewing Guild (AGS) and the Happy Hoopers Sit & Stitch group. Linda began working at the Grosse Pointe Public Library and retired from her position as a secretary for the Grosse Pointe Public Schools in 2005. Visitation Friday, February 2, 2018 from 2-8 PM at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. In state Saturday at 9:30 AM on February 3, 2018 until time of funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores, MI. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
