Jack Geml - Class Of 1961 VIEW PROFILE

Jack Geml, 74, of Lapeer, died at his home on April 11, 2021. He was born on March 29, 1947 in Detroit to parents Joseph and Frances (Thompson) Geml. After graduation from high school, Jack proudly served his nation in the Vietnam War. He was a Combat Engineer in the United States Army and while he was in Vietnam was exposed to the Agent Orange chemical. After leaving the military, Jack pursued his career as a claims examiner for MESC (now known as Michigan Works). He worked there for over 20 years until he retired. Jack loved to be outdoors, at a moment’s notice he would hop into his camper and drive somewhere to go fishing; sometimes they wouldn’t hear from him in days. Most of all, Jack loved being around his family, especially during the Holidays. Jack is survived by his siblings: Joseph Geml of Harrison Township, James (Marlene) Geml of Chesterfield, Jerry Geml of East Lansing, Jeffrey (Linda) Geml of Richland and Judy Kind of Boyne; niece: Lynsey Squires; nephew: Jarrod Squires and many other nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his sister Jeanne and his aforementioned parents.
