Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April, 15, 2010 at Luther Memorial Church in Madison, WI for Collin S. Maxwell, age 35, of Madison who died unexpectedly of heart failure on Friday, April 9, 2010 in Madison. Rev. Franklin Wilson will officiate. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Luther Memorial church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A funeral service will also be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Arrangements were made by Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
Collin was born on March 23, 1975 in St. Paul, MN to John and Sharon (Boese) Litzau. He graduated from Apollo High School in St. Cloud, MN in 1993. Collin went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison and River Falls where he received both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Management degrees. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he received a Master of Music degree and was currently employed in the University’s IT department. Collin was a member of Luther Memorial Church, where he was active in the Choir, the St. Cloud Symphony, the UW Madison Hoofers Sailing Club and the Madison Festival Choir. Collin volunteered for Habitat for Humanity International, which took him on a life changing trip to Guatemala, with his mother, it was an experience they both cherished. Collin made the loving choice to donate his tissues and organs for transplantation, an act that will impact between 50 and 75 people.
Collin is survived by his parents, John and Sharon Litzau; sister, Kelly Litzau; brother, Todd Litzau; nephews, Chase and Andrew Litzau, all of St. Cloud, MN; Aunt, Jane (Lee) Stritesky of Cynthiana, KY; uncle, Larry (Cheryl) Boese of Clearwater, MN and his very special friend, Katherine Emrich of Madison, WI.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Mary Boese and Flint and Doris Litzau.
