Gone, but certainly not forgotten. May your soul rest in peace.

During my first year at STETHS I took refuge in her office from my seniors to escape the pangs of grubbing. I could share just about anything with her. I remembered her giving me advice how I could turn the wrong side of my uniform over, restitch it for a new school year and it was brand new again as my parents could not afford to buy me new ones. May her soul rest in peace with God.

Mrs. Lewis epitomized what a Guidance Counsellor should be. I had the opportunity of working closely with her in 1982 as she advised the Magazine Committee (I was secretary)and being guided by her in her quiet, sensible way. I am still grateful to her for advising me against captioning my magazine picture the way I wanted to. It would have been a horrible mistake. She reviewed the letter that I wrote inviting Rev. Dr. Ralston Nembhard to be our guest speaker. If I am not mistaken, she was also instrumental in deciding on an appropriate farewell gift for "Bugs". I remember her saying, "Bugs is not the person to sit at home playing the piano." His gift was "agricultural".

Mrs. Lewis will always be remembered by those of us she touched at STETHS. May her soul rest in peace.

Extremely pleasant lady. She always greeted me with a warm, inviting smile and a quick wink. We NEED more people like her in the world to make it a better place.

Blessings and comfort to her family and friends.

I knew Mrs. Mavis Lewis from 1960 when she taught (with my aunt) at our school - Retirement Elementary.

I recall that she was one of the two teachers who ever came out at recess times and joined in/organized our games and played with us - even though we were not her students. She was elegant and ladylike then too, so very pleasant, always smiling. Anyone could see that she was a devoted teacher and mother.

She came to STETHS while I was still there - not sure exactly when - and she was always so pleased to see me whenever our paths had crossed.

My aunt and I remember her with much fondness, and pray her soul is resting peacefully.

She was more like a mom to me. I visited her a few months before she passed away and I am assured she is now a beautiful angel watching over all of us. May her soul rest in peace and may her family take comfort in knowing that she touched so many lives at and outside of STETHS.

It was a pleasure to be in her guidance classes. I also had the pleasure of being her private nurse to the end. Rest in peace MRS LEWIS.
