Our deep sorrow with respect to Glenton's passing in January of 2009.
Dr Glenton Smith died in a Florida hospital at the age of 52, almost two weeks after undergoing open heart surgery in Miami and after a long bout of kidney-related illness.
Smith served as team doctor with a number of sporting organizations and traveled extensively with the national senior football team.
Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president, Captain Horace Burrell, described Smith as a jovial person who "typified the phrase service with a smile". Smith was also one of the founding members of the New York chapter of the St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) Alumni Association.

I remember him as a quiet student, but also as a well respected doctor. He will be remembered by the members of the Kingston Chapter.May we meet in the next life.

God looked down on the earth and he saw your tired face , he then look around his garden and he saw an empty space he gently took you in him arms and put u to rest. God's garden must be beautiful because he only takes the best.

Glenton was my senior or super senior. How many time did he protect me fron "raggers" such as Carol Bernard and others? You guess. There were times when we "bom ride" together from Maggotty to Santa Cruz. (Those were the days when the only fear of bomming -a- ride was that the vehicle you get a ride in may break-down. Crime was not an issue). I ran into him a couple of times in Kingston. He was the same-old Glenton, jovial as ever.I am sorry to hear of his passing and hope that his soul finds rest.

Imagine, he was my mother's chiropractor in Ocho Rios Jamaica and I had no idea he was from the STETHS Family. A really great guy he was and may his soul rest in peace.Patricia Senior (Tomlinson) (1977)
It's amazing the twists life takes. Glenton was a friend but also my mom's doctor. Gone too soon...
