Born on the beautiful Island of Jamaica, Rich pursued his calling for Radio Broadcasting in Florida. Passion, thrill, and satisfaction are a few words to describe his feelings about a career he has been interested in since the early 80s. His career in radio began in Jamaica in 1991, as a volunteer on Radio Waves, which is now HOT 102 FM. This is where he got first lessons from reputable broadcasters including Marcia Rodriques and Arnold Kelly.
After working in the hospitality industry, law enforcement and corporate security management, Rich migrated to the USA where he focused full-time on Broadcasting.
In May 2006, He joined the WAVS 1170AM team and then later to WLVJ 1040 AM, where he continues to produce and host The Rich Davis Show. He was the main host of Miami’s longest running Caribbean show “Sounds of the Caribbean” and a local announcer for the BBC News broadcast on 91.3 FM WLRN, South Florida's NPR News Station. Rich also ventured to the South West Florida Coast where for six months he produced and hosted Caribbean Sundays on WKII 1070AM.
Rich Davis is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting (Miami Campus) where he worked in administration for almost two years.
He hosted concerts in the Caribbean and a number of US States, including his home state, Florida. He worked with some of the best talents in the music industry.
He will be missed by the music fraternity, classmates and fans around the world. R.I.P
