A truly humble, and genuine friend. Spoke with him just hours before the accident, so I was in total shock and denial when I heard of his passing. Still wonder sometimes if its for real. RIP my friend.
He was one of my older brothers, he died when i was pretty young, so I never got the prilleage of knowing him. The liitle I remember and what i heard of him I know he was a kind and loving person. This was proved to be one very harsh reality to accept.
The passing of Nugent is a very hard one for me until this day, I've not gotten over it. I was his coach and chemistry teacher. He and I were very close. I was shocked in learning of his death, it was just a week before I saw him and he said coach I'm not happy where I am. I want to come where you are in Texas. I promised him that I would talk to the head coach and take it from there. Only a week later Driver(Donnie Swaby)called with the sad news. Academically,Nugent was bright and on the field he excelled in tracks in the 400M hurdles.I know he would have gone on to better things but the good Lord called him for even something better, to give his angels more support. Nugent you are really missed but we'll meet.
As Driver said Nugent was our little brother, gone to soon, was a shocker for me as well, but he is in the hands of the most high, blessed bro rest in peace.......
everyday i can still hear him tell me, just cool man because me coming to see you guys. the week he died he had plan to go to Blinn college and spend the weekend with us but change his plan to see family in Canada, WE Were depending displace by his pasting that the college gave us a week off. there is a saying when god ready for you, you cannot hide and in my heart he when too soon but god have his plan and he is in the right place. he was a man of god and he is safe. my his soul rest in peace.
I remember how difficult it was learning of his death. My friend Nicola is one of his sisters and she was heartbroken. He was a beautiful soul and will always be missed.Such a sad tradegy.
I remembered Nugent as one of my "board house university" classmates. I left ja before the class graduated. I was shocked to learn of his passing. I remember his face like it was yesterday.
Nugent was my best friend at steths, we trained together for track & field, studied together for exams and he was the most genuine person one could ever meet. I did not graduate with the class of "85" because i migrated to Canada. Nugent and I kept in contact with each other throughout the years. Upon his arrival to Canada, he came directly to my work place and we went out for dinner, hang out with friends and family....The day he was leaving to drive back to the USA, he returned to my workplace to say goodby, where we made plans to meet again, only this time i would be going to the USA. Nugent then left Toronto for his 8hrs drive back to the USA, I waited for 2 day and heard nothing from him, which was unlike his character, i the nrecieved a call from my sister in Jamaica telling me Nugent had passed. i was in total shock and disbelief. My BEST FRIEND NUGENT.
