Richard "Rick" Lloyd Hendrix 63, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. He was born January 31, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Betty and Louis Hendrix. He graduated from Benton High School class of 1968. He served in the Navy from 1967-1969. He retired from the St. Joseph Light & Power as a Electrician. He was a former member of VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Moila and he was a Christian. Rick was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a son, Shawn Hendrix and fiancée, Stacey Phillips of Independence, MO; a brother, Daniel R. Hendrix of St. Joseph, MO; and a sister, Valerie Blacketer of St. Joseph, MO. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Barnett officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Hendrix will be cremated following the funeral service under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Salvation Army.
