Jim Stamp

James "Jim" Clifton Stamp, 66, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in a St. Joseph hospital.

He was born January 2, 1947 in St. Joseph, son of Delores and John Stamp and they preceded him in death.

He graduated from Central High School and attended Missouri Western State University. He served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then joined the United States Air Force with his last assignment with the 139 Airlift Wing at Rosecrans. He retired after 31 years and 7 months of duty. He served all over the world as an Intel App Superintendent serving in the most recent campaigns of Desert Storm, Desert Shield as well as many others.

He was a Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Stamp and wife Sara of Richmond, Va.; and Scott Stamp and his wife and son of New York, N.Y.; a grandson, Jack Stamp; a granddaughter, Avery Stamp; two brothers, Mike Stamp and wife Sharon of Pipe Creek, Texas; and John D. Stamp and wife Candy of St. Joseph; and a sister, Lesa Wall and husband Everett of St. Joseph.

Graveside memorial services and inurnment will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
