This is Marie. To all of Joe's friends and family. There's no easy way to say this and I didn't know how to call you all. I left this afternoon for a doctor's appointment and was only gone a few hours. When I came home I called for Joe, he didn't answer. I came back here to the den where the computer is and found him on the floor. He apparently took a fall and struck his head on the tile floor. When the paramedics came they said he had been gone for quite a while. I just lost my best friend and the love of my life.
This is Marie. Thank you all for your kind posts and private messages. There are so many I can't respond to them all at this time but each one gives me a little more courage to do what I need to do for Joe. I will keep his facebook page up and let you know how arrangements are proceeding. He will be cremated and his ashes will reside in a Military style urn. The tentative date for his Memorial Mass is February 1 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Church here in Ocala, FL. The Knights of Columbus will provide an Honor Guard and there will also be a U.S. Navy representative in attendance. Again, thank you all and please honor Joe by giving your loved ones an extra hug. Life is so very fragile.
