What were some of your favorite hangouts in high school?

Favorite places to 'hang' for me prior to getting my drivers license was River Roads all day on Saturday with a visit to Woolworth's to buy 45 records that were sometimes 3 for $1...and Maybelline makeup.  Once I got wheels...usually Jennings Steak n Shake on the weekends, and ALWAYS Loretta (St. Judes Hall) for the Sunday nite teen dances.  Ahhh, the memories!

How about Circle Steak and Totes?  Remember having to back into the parking places in those big boats we used to drive?  The North Drive In.  Ponticello's after football games for sure until they started closing early!  Sled riding at North Shore Country Club.  Sometimes we'd end up on Riverview Blvd.!  If only our parents knew!!

Jan, if I remember correctly...didn't you get injured sled riding on Priggee hill one winter?

Yes, junior year.  Sandy Berger and I took my sister and a friend to the park by Our Lady of Good Counsel and ran into a tree.  I was out for like a month from school.  If it happened today I'd have been back the next week!  ha ha

Ponticello's was the place to go after football games, as Jan said. Hall Street was off limits for me as I was next door neighbor to three brothers, Rick Schlieder & his two older twin brothers, whose parents and sister were killed on Hall Street when hit by some racers. The three of them moved in with the Rademacher family.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS TO HANG OUT WAS GLASGOW SHOPPING CENTER. THE PIZZA PLACE, BONNIE BOYS FOR THEIR SASPIRILLA. YUMMMM! THE SHOPPING CENTER UNFORTUNATELY BECAME AN EYE SORE AND THEY TORE IT DOWN  I THINK IT WAS IN FEB. HOW SAD. I LOVED CHAIN OF ROCKS PARK. FUN FUN FUN! ON WEEKENDS SOME OF US WOULD HOP ON A BUS AND GO TO RIVERROADS AND HANG OUT ALLLL DAY LONG. OF COURSE THAT WAS BEFORE ANYONE WAS DRIVING SO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION WAS THE WAY TO GO. HA! HA! LOL. IF I COULD GO BACK TO THOSE DAYS I WOULD CHANGE SOME THINGS BUT MOST I WOULD LEAVE THE SAME. THOSE WERE SUCH GOOD TIMES AND GAVE ME FOND MEMORIES.

EVERYONE TAKE CARE
