Susan Halleen Awes died in 2021, alongside her husband, in an ICU/Covid ward in an area hospital.  Her passing was not made known to us until May of 2022, when Mary Reid Brooks informed us of her passing.  This entry was made on May 27, 2022.

Melvyn Dale Awes & Susan Halleen Awes, both shown in the picture above, died together.  A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, August 20th, 2021 1:00PM at the Christ Presbyterian Church, Edina. The family was requiring those attending the service to be vaccinated and wear a mask, inasmuch as their passing occurred during the awful Covid-19 Sars 2 Pandemic. The service was live streamed for those who could not attend.

According to our classmate Mary Reid Brooks, Sue had many life long friends, such as Joan Bissell and Mary Enestvedt, for sure.  Mary had followed Sue's blog, "May First Everlasting."  It contained beautiful art, poetry and devotional readings.  

Mary expects that Sue's closer friends would be more likely to write about her life.  She deserves some kind words about her time at St. Louis Park.  Sue was a leader in any situation.  She had a gorgeous, kind smile all her life.  We invite those classmates who knew Sue Halleen well to comment below by posting a comment, and tell us a brief story about your memory of Sue Halleen.
