Our dear classmate Gloria Jean Hiner passed away on April 16, 2025. A Celebration of Life and Funeral was held on April 30, 2025 at Gloria's church which she attended during her entire life, the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church on 50th and France Avenue in Edina, MN. Gloria was born on July 27, 1940. She was 84 years of age when she died. A gentleman who knew her since 1971, Chris Hart, gave the eulogy.
You may recall that Gloria started and owned Campus Travel Center in Minneapolis for 50 years. She was an active member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church and wanted any memorials to go to their camp --Cathedral of the Pines, located in Lutsen, Minnesota.
Gloria lived in St. Louis Park her entire life, at 4050 Woodale Avenue. She attended Brookside Elementary School before moving to Junior High and Senior High School in St. Louis Park, where most of us learned to know Gloria Hiner as an active classmate and beloved friend. It is our belief that she never married.
Gloria was always close at hand during the planning of our class reunions, and was a faithful attendee at all of them.
We encourage you to use the "Post Comments" section below to enter your fond memories of Gloria Hiner.

Gloria was a good neighbor and friend of mine all through school. Our mothers helped oganized a Brownie Troop which grew into Girl Scouts. Gloria did attend Wooddale Lutheran Church before adulthood. I know because we were in the same Sunday School class, confirmation class, and Luther League. We later went to camp together at Cathedral of the Pines. She taught me how to ride a bicycle in about 15 minutes. We both loved and had fun in band, and always reconnected at class reunions. Gloria had a great travel agency, and she helped me plan a trip to Paris. She devoted her life to caring for her mother, who was a wonderful mom. They often spent winters in Hawaii. I remember the smile and hear the giggle.
