Her sense of humor, creativity and commitment to family will be deeply missed. A private memorial will be announced at a later date.

At St. Louis Park High School, we remember Sharon as a witty woman, and an art treasure.  She had a power of maturity well beyond her age.  Active in all the arts at SLP, Sharon participated in Declamation in 10th and 11th grades, in Senior Chorus (11th), Canteen, the Echowan and Echo in 12th grade, was a member of Blue Tri, the Red Cross and astounded us in the One-Act plays in 10th and 11the grades, and really amazed us in our Senior Class Play.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Sharon taught Creative Drama in the Minneapolis Public Schools and also taught in the mental health community.  She co-wrote a childrens' play and managed a theater troupe that performed weekly in schools.  The troupe was called THE MASKETEERS.

Professionally, Sharon Schein Chauss was a spokesperson for the M.S. Society, Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Executive Directror of the Minnesota Workforce Wellness Resource.

Close friends that knew Sharon have remarked as follows:

"What a fun, intelligent and interesting Woman. She could read a book in a day, cook a good dinner and be attentive to her beloved Stan, who every day told her he loved her."

"I remember Sharon fondly… warm, curious and friendly. Not everyone takes the time to have conversations with young people, but she did with me, and she was someone I was always happy to run into. Sending love to the family and hoping you can wrap yourselves up with good memories."

"My sympathies and healing wishes to Sharon’s family. She was a shining light at the Walker with her lively and happy personality, inquisitive mind, and great art insights that were so valuable, as well as her life advice to me. May her memory be a blessing."

"I will greatly miss this woman, with a smile that lit up any room she entered. I was a fellow tour guide at the Walker Art Center for 20 plus years and always loved talking contemporary art with Sharon. My sympathy to Stan and her family."

When I think of Sharon, I think of the word VIBRANT! I recall a wonderful conversation I had with her at one of our reunions. She was accomplished, open and colorful. What a great lady!

When i saw the passing notice and comment about her smile the first  thing i remember about Sharon was her smile and how welcoming it was so many years ago. i believe my freshman year. My heart and prayers go out to her family.
