Nancy Janes Gamson

Sedro-Woolley, WA - Nancy Janes Gamson, accomplished teacher, talented artist, lifelong learner, and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully on May 27, 2026, at age 89. Born September 3, 1936, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, she graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1958 and taught art and English before attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she met Ian Gamson. They married in 1961 and shared over 60 years of marriage, family, business, travel, and adventure across Australia, Minnesota, and Washington State. Nancy possessed a rare combination of intellectual depth and personal warmth. Gregarious and generous, she could strike up a conversation with almost anyone and make them feel seen, heard, and appreciated. She is survived by her three sons and seven grandchildren.
