BOYD, Ross H. III 45, passed away Sept. 15, 2012. Proud 4th generation Floridian. Always dedicated family man to beloved wife of 20 years, Louise (Jakel), incredible father to children, Harrison and Madeline; devoted son to Ross and Jan Boyd; supportive brother to Karen and Andy; adored grandson; uncle; nephew and cousin to many. An educator in Hillsborough County for 20 years, first as a teacher at Roland Park, then as assistant principal at Monroe and currently at Wilson Middle School, all truly a 2nd family to him. Family to receive friends at 2 pm, Sept. 29, at Anderson McQueen, 2201 9th St. N. (MLK), Remembrance at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, an educational fund has been set up for Ross's children. Boyd graduated from Northeast High School in St. Petersburg and earned his bachelor's degree in secondary social science education from the University of South Florida in 1991. He earned his master's degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University with a 4.0 grade point average.

A member of Phi Delta Kappa, Hillsborough chapter, and Hillsborough Association of School Administrators, Boyd also participates in youth soccer coaching. Boyd taught at Roland Park Middle School in Hillsborough County and was a team leader and, later, the department chair. In 1998 he was named "Teacher of the Year."
