Obituary
Steven E. Epperson was welcomed home to the presence of his Lord on July 11, 2000, after a brief illness.&pe&He was born in Everett, WA, September 28, 1958. He graduated from Stanwood High School in 1976 and from Western Washington University in 1981. In December, 1983, he married Janell Mittelstaedt of Stanwood.&pe&When Steve was 16, his father gave him life a second time in the form of a kidney transplant. Steve put that gift of life to use serving his family as a good husband and father, and his church and community as a leader. He was actively involved in the leadership of Christian Family Center on Camano Island. He was proud to volunteer in Fire District 14 as firefighter, EMT, Battalion Chief, Chaplain, and Commissioner. After working several years as CPA at Langabeer, McKernan & Co. CPA's, and at Millstone Coffee, Steve was employed as Controller for Cascade Coffee. Steve always gave his best to everything he did.&pe&He is survived by his wife, Janell; and children, Megan, 9, and Michael, 7, of Stanwood; parents, Rev. Ernest and Lois Epperson of Warm Beach; brother, David Epperson and family of Everett; mother-in-law, Marilyn Mittelstaedt of Stanwood; brothers-in-law, Sam and Steve Mittelstaedt and families; aunts, Marjorie and Marie Bavin of Ohio, Ruth Sam and Esther Grove of Stanwood, and several foster aunts.&pe&Memorial Celebration will be 2:00pm, Friday, July 14, 2000 at Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. off Exit 206 near Arlington.&pe&In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Family Center building fund, or to the Warm Beach Firefighters Association, earmarked for rescue boat.&pe&There will be a private burial at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home of Stanwood.
