James Martin (Marty) O'- Connor was born in Seattle and moved with his family to Stanwood in 1973.

Marty was very active and played basketball for Stanwood High School where he graduated in 1976.

He then went on to college at St. Martin's where he continued to play basketball and graduated with his degree in engineering in 1980.

Marty worked for Puget Sound Energy for 32 years. Along with his work, Marty enjoyed being part of the Professional Skiing Instructors of America for the past 30 years, where he was named instructor of the year last year. He was also very active in the cycling world and played league basketball.

Marty's biggest passion was his family. He was married to his best friend Deanne (Greco) O'Connor. They just celebrated 31 years of marriage together this past June.

Marty leaves behind his wife Deanne and their four children, Leah, Corey, Haley and Morgan O'Connor; parents Jim and Mary O'- Connor, of Camano Island; brothers Bob (Heidy) O'- Connor of Stanwood and Patrick (Kimber) O'Connor of Everett; father-in-law George Greco of Tacoma; brother-in-law Don (Jennifer) Greco of Tacoma; nieces Angie (Andy) Pedersen, Amy (Ryan) Hart, Keelan Rife and McKenzie Greco; five nephews Andrew (Beth) O'Connor and Kevin Rife; five greatnephews and nieces and so many close friends who were a huge part of his daily life.

He is preceded in death by his loving sister Kathleen (Kathy) O'Connor along with his aunts and grandparents.

Marty will long be remembered by many friends and family who enjoyed his passion for life, his sense of humor and his ability to grasp life and live it to the fullest.
