Arnold, thank you very much. Can't wait. Jen - I can bring some veggies and dip and cheese. I can also bring soda (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and 7 UP)or whatever else you need
That all sounds great (food) guys! I left my power cord at work Monday so I am just now getting up to speed...
We're planning on picking up the meat, buns, plates/cups so ANY and ALL side dishes will be great! Chips? Pickles?
We're looking at Saturday July 4th...about 5PM. I know a few of Chad's classmates might not be over until evening, so even if you can't stay long-stop over! If anyone needs directions email or call me anytime. My sister Jessica is coming in from Indiana, Corie you can hitch a ride with her! :)
What a shocker it has been to hear that Michael Jackson is no longer here. I am sure we all tried the moon walk at every dance or in front of the man in the mirror at home. Michael's songs are amazing you just can't beat it these days. Remember the time listening to his songs and the way he made you feel when you heard his songs. I think it is down right bad how the media made him out to be a smooth criminal. He always wanted people to leave him alone but the media would not let it go. The man could jam and heal the world with his lyrics. Oh course he is gone too soon and the children right now are in a dangerous times being in the hands of the courts, pray for them. Keep the faith this time around and always remember you are not alone. These days it doesn't matter if you are black or white, smile, and, scream it is all human nature. We all have our favorite songs such as billie jean, thriller, wanna be startin somethin, or my favorite dirty diana. Remember we have a lady or guy in our life but we are all good friends. may the music live on
Billy! You didn't work in PYT! However, I am impressed at how many of his songs you did fit in! Thanks for that very inspirational (yet totally hidden) tribute to Michael Jackson! - LOL..
PS - as a side note I do believe Jen and I BOTH had at least one of our bedroom walls covered in MJ pictures during middle school!
Impressive Bill, very impressive. I was in Memphis when the news broke about him. The people in that town went nuts!!! I thought they were going to start a riot. I left out of there and headed to Nashville. I had to stop off and visit Loretta Lynn's home and ranch while I was passing through. Jen, I have to ask, is this a picnic, or "party"? Just wondering about which "beverage" to bring. BTW, yall ladies have lost Michael, Us guys have lost Farrah, and the world has lost Ed McCmahon. (but im pretty sure there wasnt anyone pinning up posters of Ed.) talk to yall soon.
My heart does go out to Michael Jackson. I don't think there was a bigger fan than I was (heehee), I memorized every one of his dances, had so many posters of him on my walls and even wore a white glove! I can't believe he is gone. We will have to dedicate some Michael Jackson dances during the reunion. I'm sure Ticia and Jen will get up and do Thriller for us! Have fun at the July 4th party- I'm jealous!!!!
One more thing.... I heard a rumor that the class of 1988 are going to crash our reunion on Friday night???? What's up with that?? :-) I guess they are just excited to see how awesome our class turned out to be! haha
Arnold, you were asking about whether this was a cookout or party. A little of both? Our kids will here early on, but as it gets later my mom is going to take them to her house. Should set up tents and hire a sitter, they would love it! We do have a tent actually...humm???
I am getting a keg from one of my employer's, everyone is welcome to bring what else they like.
Hilton Head was a blast. We have a deal with our friends that own a condo there that if we go down and do maintenance on the place in exchange for staying the whole week. The condo is in ShipYard just about 5 minute bike ride to the beach. The pool is right out side our place there, so the kids can swim anytime of the day or night, yup Tyler loves swimming late at night. We love riding our bikes everywhere we go. It is very relaxed and laid back. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place I would recommend HHI. Can't wait til next year roles around, unless something major happens to the place then I will be making an emergency run to HHI for repairs ... (crossing fingers, please something break, please something break)
You all have fun on the 4th. we have family and friends coming over and LOTS of the big, bang, lights stuff ...
Bill (notice no Y on the end of my name. WINK) heheheh
Okay William (no Y) - hope you guys have a good holiday weekend.
Yeah Hilton Head is wonderful, we used to stay at a place called Fiddlers Cove, it was about a 2 minute walk to the beach. We really liked it because it was not commericalized that most places.
As far as the party @ Jen & Chad's..what was the chant...89; 89; party hardy all the time. Alcohol involved, no crahing decks, no one gets sick (at our age we just don't like that anymore), and now instead of knowing how to not get busted, we know how to avoid hangovers with sugar and Advil. lol.
I want to send a shout out to Jen Curtis-Tate and her family for putting on a Pre-reunion/ 4th of July party at her beautiful home in Bartlett last night. Hopefully we didn't leave too big of mess. On behalf of my crew, I am sending a big thank you.
No,no,no-thank you guys for coming! It was a lot of fun. And in response to Arnold I guess we really are older, I had NO headache the next day and the house was NOT that bad? We're good! :)
Jen - It was great! I'm happy we didn't leave too much of a mess. Was feeling kinda guilty I didn't stay to help clean up! What fun to catch up! I'm trying to figure out how to get Ava'a picture off my phone - then I'm posting it! LOL I had to show everyone when I got back here - needless to say they thought it was as funny as we did!!
