Stephen Bain Newlin, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away at his home on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the age of 62.
Stephen was born the son of Paul and Diane (Fincham) Newlin on June 4, 1962 in Enid, Oklahoma.

Stephen was a beacon of creativity, dedication, loyalty, and talent, leaving a lasting impact on every soul he interacted with. His life was richly interwoven with the melodies of music. Stephen's love for playing the guitar was not only evident in his diverse collection of guitars but in the way his fingers danced on the strings, creating symphonies that would leave listeners spellbound. His dedication to his craft was as impressive as his loyalty to his sports teams. Stephen was a reservoir of sports statistics, engaging in lively discussions and debates with fellow sports enthusiasts. His talent extended beyond the realm of music and sports, as he enjoyed playing softball well into his adulthood, showcasing his competitive spirit and physical agility.

Stephen leaves behind his siblings: Lisa (Darren) Vargas; Brian (Lucy) Newlin; Jason Newlin; and Jonathan Newlin along with numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Diane Newlin and sister, Mary Newlin.

A memorial service for Stephen will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cornejo Funeral Home, 1030 Mission Rd., Wellington, Kansas 67152.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given in his name to the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
