Leslie Mullen

Leslie (Morrissette) Mullen, 71, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born in Storrs, Connecticut, Leslie was the daughter of Donald and Constance (Lowell) Morrissette. She attended E.O. Smith High School and later the University of Connecticut.

While growing up in CT, Leslie had the good fortune of living next door to her beloved grandparents and also enjoyed near constant exposure to her extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles – an experience that directly shaped her approach to raising her own family. She believed in the importance of close family connections. Upon relocating to the cape in the early 70s, it didn’t take long for her to start collecting friends along the way who would eventually become part of our extended family. She was a fiercely loyal friend who maintained close friendships, many of which spanned decades. Those who knew her best will miss her wild imagination and wry sense of humor and endless ability to find pleasure in the mundane. But most especially, we will miss the feeling of being part of her posse and the love, humor and talk therapy she gifted each of us.

Leslie was a devoted mother who raised four children, and family was at the heart of her life. She is survived by her son, Torin (Janet), and her daughters, Jessie (Josh), Ashley (Mike), and Nicole (Rory), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Kealahn Mullen, Annabelle Mullen, and Jordana Breslin.

She is also survived by her sister, Karen Southwick; her brother, Ted Morrissette; her sister-in-law, Kathy Mendoza; and many nieces and nephews. Leslie leaves behind far too many dear friends to mention, each of whom held a special place in her life.

Leslie was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Barry Mullen; and her partner, Bruce Stello.

Leslie lived life with a wonderful sense of humor and an ability to find joy in the everyday. She loved dance, adored her cats, and especially treasured time spent talking with family from her porch. Those porch conversations—filled with laughter, stories, and the simple pleasure of being together—were among the moments she cherished most.

After retirement she found joy in volunteering at the Family Pantry of Cape Cod.

Leslie will be remembered for her quick wit, warmth, independence, generous spirit, and deep love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless stories, and plenty of laughter—gifts that will continue to be shared by all who knew and loved her.

Her family hopes Leslie will be remembered the way she lived: with laughter, love, a good story, and perhaps a little dancing.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
