Valerie Spence, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in South Paris, Me. on August 3, 2017. She was born in Willimantic, Ct . to the late Ernest J. Tarckini and Johanna Opitiz. After graduating High School, Valerie joined the U.S. Army serving as a nurse during the Vietnam War. Always upbeat and positive, Valerie enjoyed gardening, her flower beds and spending time with her family.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband Travis Spence, beloved daughter Tammylyn Danforth , her adoring brother Ron Tarckini, sisters Mary Ann Sandberg, Linda Bouchard, Carol Amaio, Barbara Vaina and Patty Burnham. Her Grandchildren Ashley Ruest, Joshua Ruest, Stephen Howhannesian, and Great Grandchildren Joselyn “Bug” and Quinten Michael. Spence- Valerie, 63, died in South Paris on August 3, 2017. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Homeless Veterans.
