Ronald David Johnson of Knoxville died peacefully at University of Tennessee Medical Center on June 19, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Ron was of the Baptist faith and professed his salvation prior to his death. Ron said he was ready to go see Jesus and be in Heaven. Ron was born on May 16, 1951, in Knoxville. Ron lived and worked in Knoxville all his life. Ron was the owner of RDJ Construction, LLC where he built residential homes and commercial buildings over a span of 53 years. Ron spent every free moment in the woods hunting or on the water fishing. He loved all things outdoors. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathyern Johnson. Ron is survived by his sisters, Linda Johnson Baldwin and Kay Johnson. Very special and close friends were Ronnie French, Johnny Moon and Gregory Byrd who all provided care for Ron in his later years. Ronnie has been his friend since high school, and they hunted and fished together for many years. Johnny was a friend that worked with Ron in the construction industry building houses. Gregory was a friend that hunted with Ron and was his primary caregiver while Ron was very ill. Ron’s wishes were to be cremated and scattered in the outdoors with no services to be held.
