Rev. Dr. David Owen Sheddan went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 70, surrounded by his loving family after a sudden illness. He served 30 plus years in Southeast Asia with the IMB (International Mission Board) as a missionary, after serving as a pastor in the U.S. for 9 years. He loved and enjoyed his family, had a huge heart for the indigenous and Chinese people of Malaysia, and loved to hike.
Preceded in death by brother, Jackie Sheddan and father, Jack Sheddan.
Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Sheddan; children, Jonathan (Kelly) Sheddan, and Emily Sheddan; beloved grandchildren, Regan, Benjamin, Katherine, Lauren, and Hudson Sheddan; mother, Edith Sheddan; brother, Charles (Beth) Sheddan; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Family will receive friends 11:00-2:00pm, Saturday, January 22, at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 6500 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville TN 37914, with service to follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. Family and friends will gather at Asbury Cemetery at 1:45pm on Sunday, January 23 for an interment at 2:00pm.
