James Steven Bell – known to family and friends as Steve, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the age of 64 years.  Steve was a member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church.  He was the owner of Steve Bell Construction Company for more than 30 years.  Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Becky; children, Lauren (Curtis) Gaylord, Natalie (Chad) Copenhaver, and Jeannine Bell; grandchildren, Mac Gaylord, Henry Gaylord and Caroline Copenhaver; sister, Carolyn (Terrell) Burkhart; brother, Chris (Cheri) Bell; nephews, Travis (Jessie) Bell, Tyler (Alanah) Bell, and John (Erika) Cassidy; great nephew, Rhett Bell; great-niece, Lillian Bell; father-in-law, Robert Nipper; sister-in-law, Diana (Doug) Cassidy; and brother-in-law, Dean Nipper.  Steve is preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Bell and Joyce Marie Pratt Bell; and mother-in-law, Mary Nipper.  Family and friends will gather at Thorn Grove Cemetery in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, at 9:45 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018, for a 10:00 AM burial with Reverend Lewis Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.  A celebration of Steve’s life will follow at 7:00 PM, with Reverend Mark McKeehan officiating.  Honorary pallbearers include Chris Bell, Travis Bell, Tyler Bell, Terrell Burkhart, Dean Nipper, Doug Cassidy and John Cassidy.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church.
