
Coffey, George Jr. – age 56 of Mascot went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with kidney disease on Monday, August 31, 2009. He was a beloved member of Holston Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, George, Sr. and Mary Alice Coffey; special uncle, Idol Coffey; grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Brenda Coffey; son and daughter-in-law, Willis and Abigail Coffey; grandchildren, Crawford, Sadie, and Jake Coffey; brothers, Jerry Coffey and special friend Becky Wyrick, Jeffrey and Donna Coffey; sisters, Vickie and Roger Beckner, Vivian and Gary Parker, Lisa and Donnie Davis; special nephews and niece, Jonathan Davis, Ondes III, Austin, and Kaylin Webster; and many other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Rivers, Dr. Gue, Christine Tolliver, nurses at UT Hospital, his “girls” at DCI, and Angela Lewellen with UT Hospice for their loving care during his illness. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Brock Webster and Rev. Larry Young officiating. Friends will meet at 10:45 AM Wednesday at Roseberry Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Ondes Webster, Jr., Ernest Boling, Ronald Jones, Alvin Haynes, Doug Tolliver, Barlowe Webster, Dwight Davis, and Todd Webster. Honorary pallbearers: Sonny Shipe, Bill Webster, Gartman Baldwin, Sherrill Davis, Eddie Hammer, and David Whaley.
