Sue Ellen (Boales) Fandel, 74, of Germantown Hills, IL passed away at 11:51 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Snyder Village in Metamora. She was born on May 2, 1943 in Ipava, IL to Robert and Wilma Mae (Jones) Boales. She married Austin J. Fandel in Chicago, IL on February 24, 1968. He passed away on December 25, 2004.

Surviving are her children Cathy (Chris) Keim and Tina (Gary) Frank both of East Peoria, Dan (Jenny) Fandel and Amy (Micky) Kauffman both of Metamora; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Roberta Caldwell of Tinley Park, IL and Patricia (Clyde) Trickle of Gilbert, AZ; and brother Michael (Sandy) Boales of Lake Geneva, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Boales.

Sue had worked as a clerk for a dry cleaning business. She was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora, IL. She enjoyed bowling, bible study groups, cross stitching, and going out to family events. Sue was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was strong in her faith and conveyed the importance of faith to her children.
