Jerry Casey

Gerald R. “Jerry” Casey, 70, of Streator passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Heritage Health Therapy and Rehabilitation in Dwight, Illinois. 
  Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Rev. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate. 
  Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. 
  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.  Full military honors will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.  Pallbearers will be Danny Casey, Pat Casey, Brian Deats, Tom Hoxie, Jim Hoxie and George Cave.  Honorary pallbearers will be Sue Casey and Traci Pouk. 
  Born June 6, 1943 in Ottawa he was the son of Harold and Evelyn (Hoxie) Casey.   
  He is survived by daughters, Jenny Foster of Texas, Julie Gebhardt of Alabama and Beth Southerland of LaSalle; sisters, Judith (Emmett) Cave (his twin) and Margo (Richard) Deats of Streator; 8 grandchildren also survive. 
  He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Amy Deats. 
  He graduated from Streator High School Class of 1961.  He served in the United States Army. 
  He worked for Vactor for many years until his retirement. 
  He was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  He was a member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council 790 and the Streator Eagles Club. 
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

I remember Jerry as being very quiet and mild mannered . My Sympathy and Prayers go out to his Family.
