David William Henkel

David William Henkel, 32, of Joliet, formerly of Streator, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 1992, at his home. He had been ill.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gilbert Fletcher will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dames Funeral Home, 309 Sherman St., Joliet.

Hagi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born March 30, 1960, in Streator, he was the son of Dale and Leslie (Andrews) Henkel.

Surviving are his parents of Streator; brothers, Major Daniel Henkel of Warner Robbins Air Force Base, Georgia, and Dale H. Henkel of Streator; two nieces; a nephew; and maternal grandmother, Orril K. Sortor, of Lebanon, Oh.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorrie Kay, in 1970; paternal grandparents, John and Sophie Henkel of Minonk; and maternal grandfather, A.W. Andrews.

A 1978 graduate of Streator High School, he attended Illinois Valley Community College. He was employed by Commonwealth Edison at the Dresden Station and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, or to the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corp. of Rockford, Loves Park.
