Edwin “Eddie” Lee Rush, “Fast Eddie” “Blind Baby” 53 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning at his home.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 11-12 PM at Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held on Monday at 2 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Eddie was born November 15, 1959 in Streator to Charles and Evelyn (Osterman) Rush.
Surviving are sons, Bill Joseph Rush and Jason (Ashley) Rush and daughter, Jackilyn Rush, grandchildren, Ryan Lee and Mariah Rush, mother, Evelyn Rush, sister, Kathy (Vince) Magana and brother, Mike Rush all of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his father, son, Edward Lewis Rush in infancy, and a sister, Diane Sherman.
He attended Streator Grade Schools and Streator High School.
Eddie was employed at the Streator Brick Yard until his motorcycle accident which caused him to lose his eyesight and become blind in 1980.
He was a member of the Screaming Eagles. When he could see, he LOVED to ride! Eddie loved his family, God, his brothers “Screaming eagles”, and spending times with his grandchildren very much. His favorite was the Harley Davidsons. He enjoyed the company of friends and family and loved to have a great time.
Now he is flying on the fastest Harley there is on the golden streets of Heaven. The best thing ever……now he can see.
Memorials may be given to the School for the Blind.
