Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Tricia~ My church newsletter has March 22 1-2:30. So I just called the church and it's March 29th. Ms Lee had a typo and thats the one I cut out and not the newest one. Heck, I would have been back at the church this sunday all by myself. ha ha Thanks

Shannon Morgan (Mayville)

Thanks Teresa-I will have to give you a call.

Hannah-it is the 29th-not this Sunday but next Sunday. Hope you can make it.

Jil Bailey (Amaden)

Hey ya'll, Hannah congrats on Samantha, i know she is excited! Bailey's tryouts are April 2. Also congrats on State, that's awesome, our girls won last year and year before, so i know how it is, the whole town and school is just ecstatic! Brent said he saw several people, he was up there on a golf trip.

Samantha will have a blast skiing, it is ssooooo much fun! Just tell her to be sure and wear a helmet. Most everyone does now days, it is just too dangerous. Just like that actress this morning on news, brain damage from ski accident on the EASY slopes!! I hit my head hard when i fell, but i had my helmet on. Bailey wanted to wear her cute tabogon the last day and get pics, but i will never do that again, it's just too risky.

I did tear my ACL, i am having surgery Tuesday. It is our spring break. VEry nervous , have been hearing shoulder and ACL surgeries are extremely painful. But that with intense physical therapy, in a year, it should be great.

Fred Blood (Blood)

Hello everyone. Once again it has been a while since I posted a message on this site. I am excited as everyone else is about the upcoming reunion. I would like to try and organize an event for us to do before and after the game on Friday. Maybe a meet and greet prior to the game and just hanging out after the game talking, dancing and drinking (alcholic or non alcholic). I will check into possibly getting the old Holman Gym or something that is not expensive. Also, on that Saturday morning, I have made plans to have breakfast with old friends like: Greg Hughes, Otis Hill, Tyrone Hill, Albert Sims, Thomas Wofford and Richard Johnson. If there any others that would like to join and fellowship please let me know.
Lauren, if you are still looking for a DJ, you can contact my brother Donald Ray. He has been DJing in Stuttgart forever and I know he does quite a few events at the Country Club. Otis Hill and Albert (Ducky) Sims are DJ's in Stuttgart as well. Lastly, I will send my fees in by June. I pay all my bills online, I don't know if I remember how to put a check in the mail. :-)

Everyone take care and enjoy your spring break.

Hey Fred. Beer and breakfast, I'm in.

Hannah Hancock (Maier)

Shannon~ I just got a news letter from the church today and it does say March 29th. Mrs. Lee had a typo earlier this month and had the 22nd, but I wrote it down as the 15th. My bad. Heck I was wondering why I was the only one there. I have been busy with the Jr Play and getting Prom stuff together for the class. I'm sooooo ready for Spring Break. Yes, I will see you there on teh 29th!!!

Jil~ Do they rent helmets? I didn't know ppl really ski with those, but then again we don't go skiing. That is so sad about the actress that died from skiing. It has FREAKED me out because Samantha is going for the 1st time Sunday. The other thing that is FREAKING me out is that her, Katie Coker and Rachel Morris are flying back from Utah on Thursday just them. Rachel's dad is staying til Saturday. I hope it's a one way flight back. Can you imagine 3 teenagers changing flights without a parent? I'm a little scared on that as well. I know that you have to let them grow up and figure things out, but not like this. I know I would have told my mom that I would be fine.... just like Sam has said to me.
Where are you having surgery? When will you get home?

Fred~ I would love to join ya'll for any activites that you plan...just let me know. I don't do breakfast, but maybe BRUNCH!!

Jason~ What have you & Lori been up 2? No beer with breakfast!!! have a been with brunch!! ha ha Like the saying "IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE"

Tricia~ Thanks for posting me notes about Shannon's shower. Gosh, I would have been back there alone again!!!! ha ha

Where is everyone?????????????

Lauren~ How's it going money wise on reunion stuff? Are we having a good response?

Come on guys get on here and talk!!!!!!!!

Talk to ya'll later

19/03/09 11:32 PM #1086

Tabitha Williams (Gamble)

Good Morning All! Who is on the committee for the reunion? I need to know what I am paying $55.00 for. Is this for one event the country club? Lauren maybe we can set up a conference call via FREE CONFERENCE CALL.COM and talk about all of this. I don't know about any one else but I need to know more specifics. Several are traveling from a far, some have family there and some do not. Has any one blocked off any rooms for this event. Can we think about a formal dinner. Please advise.

Hey Hannah. Agenda for in the morning. Beer and fishing

21/03/09 11:19 PM #1093

Jason Holt

We definately need to have more than one big party reunion weekend.

22/03/09 10:27 AM #1094

Fred Blood (Blood)

Jason, Be careful with that beer so early. Remember that the 20 year reunion means that you are 20 years older and may not be able to recover as quickly as you did in your earlier years.
I agree that there should be more than one event for that weekend. I have heard that the Class of 88 had a very funfilled weekend starting on that Thursday prior to Homecoming. I have not seen most of you in 10 years or more and it will probably be another 10 after this so I think it would be good for all of us to have several planned events to really catch up and enjoy each others company.

Kevin Davis

Ok i am here and posting again. I am getting chills thinking about partying before during and after the game. Not because of the caust i just remember doing these things 20 years ago and remembering the not remembering the next morning. LOL.

Jason,
I guess everyone has forgotten that it is noon somewhere.

Fred,
it would be great to see the gang and have some breakfast. Just let me know where and when. I agree that we need to get together a little more than one blow out on saturday. I live in vilonia but if i can help set something up let me know.

Lauren,
I have been making videos with pictures for special occasions in the Army Guard. If you can put out a post for folks to send me pictures from high School on through current i can try and put something together to play at the country club Saturday night. I there is any intrest let me know because i will have to get the right music to play behind the pictures. Shouldn't be a problen since i have a hard drive with over 20,000 songs on it. if you would like to see some of the ones i have done let me know and i can find a small one that will email and send it to you.

Everyone have a great spring break.

Lauren Hartz (Clark)

Hello all-

Sorry for the delay in responding to the questions. We have been out of town on Spring Break for a few days.

In reference to the questions …..

Q: What am I paying $55 for?
A: This includes the cost of
1) Nice facility rental and
clean up (not a small task!) $300
2) Heavy hours d’oeuvres’ $15/person
3) DJ with Karaoke Machine $400
4) CD of the evening that will be
mailed to you after the reunion $10

After gathering the cost of all these things, we divided by 50 people. Typically when planning a party you guesstimate that 30% of the people invited will actually come. That is where we came up with the cost for an individual at $40. We added the cost of the food again for a couple and got the $55.

Q: We need to do shirts and cups like they did last year.
A: Cups worked well for the class last year because they had to bring there own liquor. The Country Club has a bar where you can buy beverages (Check and Credit Card ONLY). Also, Everyone I spoke with was not interested in wearing a t-shirt that basically advertised how old they were. I did speak with Hannah about these two items and said if either was something she want to do, then by all means, go for it.

FRED BLOOD POSTED……I would like to try and organize an event for us to do before and after the game on Friday. Maybe a meet and greet prior to the game and just hanging out after the game talking, dancing and drinking (alcoholic or non alcoholic).

WAY TO GO FRED!
This is exactly what we wanted to happen. Keep us all posted!

Q: If you are still looking for a DJ, you can contact my brother Donald Ray. He has been DJing in Stuttgart forever and I know he does quite a few events at the Country Club. Otis Hill and Albert (Ducky) Sims are DJ's in Stuttgart as well.
A: Thanks for the info. Teresa Stovall Davis found a someone that is not a classmate. We did not want those guys to have to work their own reunion. We wanted them to have a good time and visit with everyone too! (Did not know about your brother. If something happens to this guy, we will call him)

Q: Has any one blocked off any rooms for this event.
A: No, there have not been any rooms blocked off at this point. Honestly, no one has thought of or mentioned it until now. If this is something I need to do, please let me know how many rooms and where?

Q: Can we think about a formal dinner?
A: A formal dinner was discussed but all felt with today’s economic situation the cost would be too prohibitive and we would not get a good turn out. With everyone sitting to eat, it also does not lend itself to good conversation. We wanted to provide a good environment for you to be able to visit with ALL your old friends you have not seen in 10 or 20 years!

Q: We definitely need to have more than one big party reunion weekend.
A: Anyone is welcome to take the lead and plan something in addition to what has already been discussed. We were hoping others would join us in the planning of the weekend. We will be glad to post or mass email any information for you. Just let us know.

KEVIN DAVIS POSTED….I have been making videos with pictures for special occasions in the Army Guard. If you can put out a post for folks to send me pictures from high School on through current i can try and put something together to play at the country club Saturday night. I there is any interest let me know because i will have to get the right music to play behind the pictures. Shouldn't be a problem since I have a hard drive with over 20,000 songs on it.

Kevin’s email address is
kevin.b.davis@us.army.mil

YEAH KEVIN!

Q: How's it going money wise on reunion stuff? Are we having a good response?
A: ……Hope to see a lot of people in October!

I hope this answers everyone’s questions for now. If there are any others, please do not hesitate to ask. If there is something that you want posted on the ANNOUNCEMENT PAGE, or if you want a mass email sent out to all of your classmates, please let me know and I will be happy to get that done for you! The web site is for everyone, it just won’t let very many people have complete access to all the functions at one time.

Jil Bailey (Amaden)

Hannah, yes, they rent helmets. Almost everyone had them on. yea, i would be nervous too if they were changing flights, airports can be so confusing. She will have a blast though. I had my surgery tuesday, i am doing well, i had a femoral nerve block and pain pump that came home with me. all that has worn off so i am feeling a little more now, but i have medicine. Have heard the physical therapy is awful, but i have to do it for my knee to get normal again. i'll have it 3 days a week. i go back to school on monday.

tricia, ya'll will have a blast. bailey and i went to new york last summer , our elementary social studies teacher takes whoever wants to go on those trips, we had sooooo much fun!!!! i think next year she is taking a trip to puerto rico, we might go on that one.

Good Morning Class of 89! Happy Thursday.

Lauren- Thanks Lauren for the information it is very helpful. Do you know what type of Heavy hours d’oeuvres' will be served? Who is on the committee and made the decision for the country club? (Just curious).

Fred- Can you contact Michelle Minter I believe she is the director over Holman now and see if it is available for Friday night.

Hannah-Can you check on the T-shirts to see how much it will cost for them? Those who want to purchase can.

Lauren Hartz (Clark)

Q: Do you know what type of Heavy hours d’oeuvres' will be served? Who is on the committee and made the decision for the country club? (Just curious).

A: I am not able to confirm the menu with the Country Club until closer to the date of the reunion. It won’t be shrimp and caviar but it also won’t be cheese dip and beer wieners either. Ha! Ha! They have some very tasteful, nice options that I hope everyone will be happy with. I will let you know when I am able to confirm the menu.

There were two surveys on the web site for months. There were several reminders to go and vote. One asked Where would you like to have the Main Event for the Reunion? There were two front runners-as Class President, I had to make the decision. I made the decision based on what additional things had to be considered…food, beverages, set up, clean up etc. The Country Club could offer all these things where no place else could.

The other question on the survey was What would be your ideal 20th High School Reunion Weekend? These were the options that were on the survey or you could add your own answer.

Main event Friday night after football game
Meet at football game with main event Saturday night
Float in parade, meet at football game, main event Friday night
Float in parade, meet at football game, main event Saturday night
Main event Friday after game, family picnic Saturday
Meet at game, family picnic Saturday, main event Saturday night
Float in parade, meet at game, family picnic Saturday, main event Saturday night
Float in parade, main event Friday night after game, family picnic Saturday

There was no obvious winner to this survey other than the main event being Saturday night. That is were the idea came from to let those who wanted to do the other things take the lead and organize anything else that there was to be done.

Below is a list of possible additional events. Anyone interested in chairing the event, please let us know and let me know what you want to do. I will post it with your contact information on the HOME PAGE of our web site.

Float in parade
Friday night before football game
Friday night after football game
Saturday breakfast
Saturday lunch
Other (please specify)

Lauren--- Don't know what Fred is talking about, but count me out for sure on the DJ thing. Even as a back up. I am going to be DRUNK, and plan on thoroughly enjoying myself and my classmates. As I am a professional DJ now and have a business, I do not like to get tipsy and do my JOB, and if you are gettin paid it is a JOB. I once told Fred years ago that I was not a DJ I was just DJ'ing. Since then that has changed and I try to take it very seriously. Nothing serious will be included in my 20 year reunion.LOL

All---- Do you remember being in school and seeing all the folks going to their 20 year reunions? Do you remember thinking "DAMN they are old" You've been out of school for 20 Years ! Oh My God!! Now how many of you feel old? Certainly not me.
