Family: Married 1986 to Kelly Cathell, Son, Connor Dale Augustine, age 6. Son, Bennet John Patrick, age 2.

Highlight: Became a Christian in July 1980. Helped at the birth of my sons. Lived in Washington, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, California, Massachusetts, Washington DC, Colorado, and The Republic of Uzbekistan. Traveled in France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Karaklpakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Honduras, Mexico, Romania, Czech Republic, Moldova, Poland, Turkey, and Canada. Hiked, climbed, or skied in Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Canada (and in some of the other countries listed above). Celebrated 13th anniversary with my wonderful wife, Kelly. Put my boys to bed almost every night.

Education: 1991-1992 Ph.D. studies in Inner Asian & Altaic Studies, Harvard University. 1989-1991 BA, Middle East Studies, University of Utah. 1986-1989 International/Middle East Studies, Portland State University. 1982-1986 BA, Biblical Literature & Theology, Multnomah Bible College. 1981 Certificate in Ornamental, Restoration, and Tool Blacksmithing, Turley Forge, Santa Fe, New Mexico. 1980 Certificate in Farriery (horseshoeing), South Puget Sound Technical Community College, Olympia, WA.

Career Experiences: Executive Director (1999-present) Eagle Fern Camp Estacada, Oregon. Oversee Business, development, site and facility, and programs of 115-acre, year-round Chrisitan camp and conference center. Director of Programs (1998-1999) Norhtwest medical Teams Internations, Inc., Portland, Oregon. Managed international medical aid, relief, and development programs and projects for international Christian disaster response, relief and development organization. Deputy direcor (1996-1998) Mercy Project, Tashkent, Uzbeksstan (former republic of the USSR) a Christian international humanitarian non-governmental orgaization. Co-founded, developed and helped manage international releif and development organization forcused on assisting disabled children and orphans in Uzbekistan. Direcor (1995-1996) Humanitarian Aid and Development, Central Asian Free Exchange (CAFE), Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Reorganized, developed, and managed aid relief, and community development programs of largest international NGO in Uzbekistan. Learned a lot about Homo Sovieticus, poverty, greed, mercy and the grace of God. Pastor (1992-1994) Spring Mountain Bible Church, Portland, Oregon. Led growth from a declining membership of 75 in 1992 to over 270 in 1994. Led church through building and relocating to new facilites and location.

The last 20 years have been a wild ride! Full of adventures and personal growth. I look forward to seeing and hopefully catching up on your lives at our 20th reunion.
